About Kostas Z

The Kostas Z Foundation has its roots from the life of Kostas Zografopoulos and the spirit that surrounds him. There exists true testament that one can proceed with life given different challenges. One can still give with love and care and still be part of society to share in what life gives us. The emotional cry that lead to the idea of The Kostas Z Foundation was heard on November 20, 1995, eight hours into the critical surgery of Kostas. It was during this surgery in the loving hands of all of those at Cook County Hospital Trauma Unit , following the serious car accident, that his father, Modestos, emotionally yelled "my son, Kostas, Zee" for which in Greek means "my son, Kostas, Lives". Following the miracle surgery, the overwhelming spirit of all the loving support proceeded to take the idea of a foundation to it heights. Kostas was fortunate to have encountered a core of dedicated legal individuals to work on his behalf. He calls them the Dream Team Counsel . On November 1998 The Kostas Z Foundation was registered and certified in the State of Illinois. The foundation has provided assistance for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago's Health and Fitness Center , Cook County Trauma Unit, various organizations, churches and individuals. It will continue to seek venues to help all those in need.
